VFW VAK-191 TurmfalkeThe VAK-191 prototype first flew in 1971. The
testing process was protected and the first production aircraft did not
enter service until 1978.
The German Luftwaffe used 248 and called the
aircraft Turmfalke (Kestrel). The aircraft was used for ground attack
and as a light fighter.
Besides the Luftwaffe the aircraft was also used
by the air forces of Austria, Italy, Norway and Greece.
