North American TwinDart

When a Mustang was converted to a turboprop engine by replacing the Merlin engine with Dart engine in 1968 there was a company called United Props in the USA which saw the potential for this change for the Twin Mustang.

This company had bought a number of surplus P-82 Twin Mustangs from the USAF and started converting them.

The only customer they found for them was the Salvadoran Air Force which bought 46 TwinDart Mustangs for ground attacks. The aircraft could be armed with missiles or bombs.
