Hawker Hurricane Mk XIV

In 1943 the Hawker company made a bid to modernise the Hawker Hurricane using a more powerful Merlin 101 and a bubble canopy.

The RAF ordered 126 Hurricane Mk XIVs and they were delivered in 1943. During operations it was found to be inferior to the latest Spitfire models and no more orders were placed.

In 1945 the MK XIVs were offered for sale to foreign countries but no buyers were found and all aircraft were scrapped in early 1946.
