Focke Wulf Ta-183 in USSR

There has been a lot of speculation about the fact that the Russians used the design of the Focke Wulf Ta-183 as a basis for the MiG-15 fighter. Some vague illustrations appeared in the aviation press showing a fighter that looked a lot like the Ta-183.

Up until now however the rumor could never been proven or disproven.

We found a number of pictures of what looks like the Ta-183 V-4 in soviet markings. The documents recovered together with the photographs indicate that at least 6 prototypes were flown by the Soviets.

It appeared however that Mikoyan was able to convince the authorities to let him construct his own swept wing jet fighter, which evolved into the MiG-15 we all know.
